Dark Attack

Paper

2024

This work is a light suspension in the shape of a shark, approximately 1m20 long, made from recycled materials. The name refers to the iconic “Shark Attack”, symbolizing both the power and elegance of the sea creature, but also the fear it arouses. The shark is made of perforated cardboard, a material often used to package fragile products. Inside, an LED strip allows the light colors to change, providing a dynamic, evolving atmosphere. By transforming these protective materials into a luminous sculpture, the work explores the idea that everyday objects, often considered waste, can become creations that are both aesthetic and functional. It also reminds us of our fears, including those of darkness and large predators.
